Asadah's literary journey began in 1994 as manager of the Afrocentric Bookstore in downtown Chicago. She relocated to NYC in 1997, and began the development of Read My Mind Literary Cafe. Asadah wrote her own book, Beating Black Kids, in 2009 and appeared on CNN, Al Jazeera America, ABC’s “Here & Now,” Essence.com, New York Parenting Magazine, and others. In 2014, Asadah returned to Chicago with the sum total of her literary expertise, bringing to life, The Soulful Chicago Book Fair in 2016.
